if you hold the hose and you cant feel the hose swell theres an issue if not there is
yes agree to a curtain point .... but this still doesn't tell us that the turbo is working efficiently..... is the OP getting to desired boost levels ?
as for a boost hose swelling with some slight boost @ 1800 rpm this hose may also be fatigued ..... the td5 can still produce 10 psi of boost pressure with the MAP sensor disconnected but gutless

No smake and its manual, and there is a little bit of oil in pipe from turbo but loads, was told this eas normal
 
i have a gutless stage 2 auto td5 and have been told its the Torque convertor thats not doing its job. mine isn't using oil like yours and i also have a nano com so i can see what its boosting at ect

there will be some slight oil but not loads some of this oil could be coming from the crankcase breather
disconnect breathing hose is there much crank case pressure coming from the hose while engine is running ?
if there is to much crank case pressure the oil in the turbo can not escape fast enough so it takes the easiest route out through the turbo

check end float on turbo
