Towbar Extension Needed?

I had trouble opening the anti snake handle far enough to get the hitch on the ball, I had to remove the spare. I purchased the 4x4 handle on fleabay....no probs now.
Why did Alko use a different tow ball ?........seems silly when it can cause such catastrophic accident if this info is not known.

Because their tow hitch with a built in stabiliser won't fit properly on a standard tow ball. If it did then it wouldn't work properly as a stabiliser. You could ask why aren't all tow balls made to be suitable for Alko stabilisers. They would still work with non-Alko hitches and there would be no risk of an Alko uncoupling due to the wrong tow ball.
