Hi there,

I understand the FL1 has a towbar wiring plug somewhere in the body near the rear, can anyone tell me where to find it, is it behind the wheelarch or inside the body?

cheers

Steve

It's behind the RH side boot side panel, at the rear below the fog/reverse light.
It's only suitable for the factory spec tow bar electrics though.

Behind boot side panel behind the rhs rear light. Maybe in the rear wing void, small multi plug. Usually has a blanking plug in to keep it clean.

Think this is the baby, (excuse the crappy photos)

Don't forget to upgrade the flasher unit with a 4 pin trailer unit which will then flash at the correct rate with the extra lamps and will also flash the trailer icon on the dash when indicators work.

Wiring now all fitted, easy peasy. didn't need a new indicator relay, tested it with my witter bike rack and everything functions as it should, the indicators flash at the right speed. just need a short trailer board for when i carry my c90 on the back of the car

Unless you change the flasher unit, the trailer indicator tell-tale on the dash won't work. Technically this isn't correct, and would fail an MOT, if the tow electrics was part of the MOT, which it isn't at the moment. It's coming soon however.

is there one on the FL1? i don't recall seeing one when i turn on my ignition. but maybe i need to check the manual lol
Yes. It's not checked on the bulb check at ignition on. It's only visible when the correct trailer flasher unit is installed, and a trailer is connected.
