Thank you for that,I have the tow bar in bits as it was very rusty,I am rubbing it down and using a wire brush. It was fixed with plain washers and nylon nuts.

Most if not all will need to be replaced as they are in a very bad way.

I have a copy of the instructions, so will work from that,I appreciate offer to do a pic of the assembled tow barbet should be okay.

I will assemble it on the Disco as thats all i can manage, even a bucket of bolts and nuts is heavy.

I will put up a picture when its done, some time to go yet.

You would be wise to assemble it on the Disco as you need to leave all nuts and bolts loose until everything is fitted, then you can tighten it up. Never any guarantee it will all line up otherwise!
I'd fit the two front side bits first then the front cross piece then the rear plate and bolt it up to the chassis, doing the electrics as it becomes possible to fit the plug to the rear right hand side of the side piece. And one it is all up, tighten the bits up progressively.
As i said, if you do need a pic, just tell me. There are transferred from the camera to the computer already so it is a matter of seconds to put any pics up.
All the best
Stan

Old thread but thought I would post as I viewed when looking for bolts for a 2nd hand 50289 tow bar. I bought a stainless bolts fitting kit from Stig Fasteners UK. Was only missing a few but I have sanded and resprayed the main under car bits and thought I would just change them all. Hopefully may be useful info for someone

If it actually comes from Dixon-Bate then they should be OK, but it is worth remembering that stainless although pretty may not be as strong as high tensile. So if it were me I'd look at the numbers and letters on the heads and check.
Maybe I am just hyper, but then I do tow very heavy trailers and loads. ;)

Thanks for the advice, think I will use the originals and 2 of the SS for the 2 that are missing. Its the 2 for the top part (pictured). 👍
