Hi Guys, I've a 2001 Vogue which is probably one of the only range rovers never fitted with a tow bar, how did I find that?! Anyway I could do with fitting one to it but I don't fancy paying a fortune as its only to tow a little single axle tip trailer I have.

I was thinking of buying a used genuine Swan Neck of fleabay as there are some there for reasonable money and I would like to fit the OEM wiring loom as well as it appears to be plug and play. Is that the case? I'm sure at one point I found a new supplier of the OEM (style?) wiring loom for something like £30 which seemed very reasonable but I just can't seem to find it anymore. Does anyone know where I might have seen that? As for the bar its self, they can be had for £60 with the bolts and the swan neck is there anything I should be worried about or should that be all ok for me?

As for fitting, is that just a case of bumper of (I appreciate that may be a mission in its self) bolt the tow bar into the rear cross member and bumper back on?

Correct.

Bumper off is usually the hardest bit due to corrosion. Don't under estimate this, it might take you a day to hammer/drill/smash the old bumper bolts out.

If you buy the correct LR loom it's plug and play. You just need to fit a grommet or two and feed the wires through. Paddocks do the loom I think.

Sure it isn't just folded away? Don't think I've ever seen one without a tow-bar!

Thats the back end, as far as I can see nothing there!

No electrics I had a closer look tonight and there just appears to be a normal cross member under there so no tow bar as far as I can see.
There can't be many without!

Mine didn't have one when i've bought it, but it was almost 11 years ago.
:D
Bought BOSAL aftermaret one, it's similiar to genuine one, doesn't hang like a plow.
