Touch up paint colour not matching

Can anyone help me. I need to touch up some chips on my car. I have got the paint code from the plate on my car and it is Cairns Blue. I have got a geniune touch up paint from Landrover but the colour is very dark it does not seem to be the right colour even after putting the lacquer on. Has anybody had the same problem and how do I get round it. Thanks My car is a Freelander TD4 se.:confused:
 
The paint will be made years after your paint was made, chances are the new stuff is water based and your car was 2K and finally your car has been out in sun and rain new paint hasn't??

Did you really expect it to be a match? Just be thankful it isn't red you are trying to colour match
 
when you have put the paint on and it more than likly to be 2 pack you need to put on the laquer on within 20 mins or it will go like its loosing its skin
