I have one just fits over the pump drive and engages on the woodruff key to turn pump. Nothing special. ALWAYS turn pump in a clockwise direction.

what's the ID? and thickness of the gap for woodruff? rest is just a bar welded on

better than gripping the shaft with mole grips and then moaning on here it no longer fits

Ok tool is 180 mm long. Boss is 25 mm OD. 20 mm long. Major ID at nose of boss is 16.5 mm. Minor ID at heel of boss is 12.75 giving the taper over the 20 mm to fit the taper on the pump drive. Woodruff key slot is 3.4 mm wide.

that's the end made now to have a rummage through the scrap bin for something I can weld on as a handle

On mine the boss is shouldered at the minor ID end to 20 mm OD, the thickness of the handle. Fitted through a hole in the handle which is then welded to handle at 25 mm Dia side with keyway slot along length of handle.
