Hi, this place is literally 5 minutes from me but I have never been cos I have heard it really isnt worth the money.......... so can you tell me what you think of it and whether it is worth it?
Thanks
It was my first time at tong for a pay & play, been before to other events, but regarding the pay and play.
Well organised, even though we booked late ( Friday!)
The blue routes ( easy ) were interesting enough so if you have not been off road before, you felt like you had, they also offered to take newbies round and advise them.
The red routes were really challenging, bearing in mind I was in a stock disco with mt's on, were on the limit of what could be achived, I damaged the side steps (!) but it was only a matter of time before that happened anyway. Signage was reasonable but the map was a bit vague as there was some last minute changes and it was easy to get confused as to which bit was which on the map, but that was because of the choice of routes rather than the organisation.
The black routes were extreme! I attempted 2 and only got stuck on the brow of a very steep slippy slope, but got a pull over the top. Some of the other black routes were giving the winch challenge moters a run for their money.
There was something for everyone, plenty of things to try out and push your limits, if that ws your thing.
We went down as a group of two vehicles, but ended up with 5 vehicles.
Food from the burger van is good, toilets are erm present, but thr threat of being locked in and being towed round the course tends to make you use a bush!
Part of the blue routes is the comp safari course and is quite fun at speed ( didn't say that!) the mud is sticky and the grin is infectious!!
Do it, you won't be disssapointed
