Morning folks ,

Struggling to find a stage 1, 2 & 3 car seat for my 2004 Freelander !

Anyone know if ther is a make that will fit perfectly , the vehicle has no isofix and the toddler seats I have tried don’t seem to sit right

The main issue here is the seatbelts are short & the base is quite wide which makes it awkward for the adult belt to clip in when chair is in place.

Cheers

I bought a brand new 04 Freelander 3door
The seat we had was expensive and also a bad fit but if you take time I remember it was ok
Just never got the chips sweets and all the rest of the stuff they like to leave in the car very often as once in best to leave it
We had it behind the passenger seat

When our kiddlywinks were little, and that was a long time ago, we used britax stage 1 --> stage 2 seats, which me and my wife augmented with an extra 2CM of memory foam. My recollection is that the seat was held in place by the seatbelts and the children used the harness type belts built into the seat. No child seat sits perfect in the back of any vehicle, but with the through the back type you can give the vehicle's diagonal seatbelt a right good pull and it will force the child seat into the foam making for a very secure fit. When they are older virtually any base-only booster seat works, as long as you have one with the "arm rests" to guide the lap belt, just give the diagonal belt a gentle pull tight and their golden.

Speak to the likes of Halfords, Mothercare or any other car seat supplier in your area and see if they will let you try out the fitting before you buy
