I'm very pleased with it. I've still got a ? over oil consumption, but I'm hoping that it sorted. I've not been driving it much for months now due to a brake pedal feedback issue. Think that's sorted now, so with being back to normal mileage I'll be able to see if oil consumption has stopped.
If you do the engine yourself, as well as the new parts, you will need to buy more tools and equipment that you probably don't already have.

I don't think it's that different. Not that would affect the decision to rebuild or not rebuild anyway.

To ya’ll think a 340kg engine stand will be sufficient.

several pallets and a sheet of ply, is what i use not keen on engine stands

Space is at a premium in my workshop and seems the best way to be able to move it around. Engine can’t be more that 250kg can it? Not stripped but drained.

If you drive through my village again you can borrow my engine stand. You'll also need things like a dial indicator, piston ring compressor, torque gauge, crank dog nut tool, valve spring compressor, compression tester etc

That’s very kind of you! I’ll bring more chutney (less burnt this time). I’ve got a few of those but I’m sure I’ll ask for recommendations for the others nearer the time

Ahh, thought it tasted a bit strong!
It's there if and when you want to borrow it. Depending on what jobs I've got lined up, I might be able to loan you a few other tools.
