My landy is referred to as 'it'. However I've owned vehicles with various names such as;

'Start you fecking barsteward'
'Heap of fecking crap'
'Feck it, it's a scrapper'
'Fecking cnut'
'Bollox to it!'
'Set fire to it'

To protect the innocent, none of the above named vehicles were Land Rovers (surprisingly).

Just refer to ours as the "Landy".....its hard as f*** so cant give it too affectionate a name, though we obviously think of it as one of the family, in fact its less hassle than some of the family that have names but will remain nameless....:)

Mines called something different every day depending on what's broken I think I've even invented some new swear words.f***ing piece of ****.
But I love it and wouldn't be without it now.

Mine is the land rover or the 90. I haven't got a name for it and I doubt I will ever, I feel stupid enough at the vets with pets with daft names. I would die of embarrassment at the garage if I named the LR…

My other half however affectionately (I think) calls it 'that bloody landrover'

What about Marine... or Commando...hard as f@&k...

My latest one is called Dixie the Disco, partly because it's our tradition and partly because her reg no. is DB-941-DX;

Previous ones have been called Dora, Daisy II & III, Disco Duck, Dusty, Rudy (red colour), T62, Françoise (she was a very sophisticated DII ES) and Lexie the LR Def.

Dave

Aha! YOU had T62! Salut! What a great truck that was/is :5bcheers2:

Back on track, I've always named our cars. The D2 is Tigger cos he's big n bouncy n fun fun fun fun fun :) The D1 project was called Jake by its previous owner, but we haven't come up with a new name for him yet, apart from 'green un'. Had a Series II called Swampy because it was covered in moss and mould when we got him - looked like he'd been dragged out of a swamp. The Series III that followed was called Smokey because it had an old worn 2.25 diesel. Had an ex-army 110 that we called Monty, and a 90 called Natalie because of the reg 'NAT'...

I think it's sad. And I name most of my vehicles. Sad, sad, sad, sad, SAD!

Disco 2 is called Snot Bucket as it is the pale metallic green with the "beige" (looks more like very pale green) interior that has green piping. Yuck.

Anyroad up. Back in the late 80's I was at an XR3 owners meeting and did a quick straw poll to see if owners named their XR3s. One bloke had a black one that he called Thunder because of the fancy exhaust he'd fitted. Another wildly tuned white one was called Lightning due to its turn of speed. One rather miserable chap told me his red car was called Clitoris. On asking why, he replied "Cos it's red and every cnuts got one".

I'll get me coat.........

Disco is called Mud Monkey, Because shs's a V8 on muds. Bmw was called the black pearl, Because she was a chavved up 320 when I got her then I planted a M50 turbo lump in her(fastest none M car on my owners club)
