Hi,
I’ve a fault with my front ABS sensors, I suspect I need to remove them, clean the heck out of them and refit.

all good except I can’t pride the bloody things out !

everything on my oks lady seems rusted solid I’ve been fairly liberal with the WD40 (I think I’m high on fumes) and tried a variety of ‘persuading’ devices but I can’t get the damn thing to budge.

Do any of you have any cunning tips which may help ?

thanks

Bob

If it is to be replaced then you can very carefully drill the sod out until it's weak enough to shift.
You could try molegrips on the abs sensor head and carefully try to rotate it with very small movements until it gives. It will.... Eventually ;)

You need plus gas not wWD40 unless it's their penetrating oil. Try tapping the sensors in gently.that may solve your problem

Well, it’s taken a whole afternoon to free the caliper and caliper carrier, not to mention the disc and retaining screw...

this beast would be a joy to work on if every blooming nut wasn’t rusted solid

Ah I take it you want to remove the swivel hub and the sensor is preventing it coming off. When it did my ball joints I elongated the hole in the dust cover so the sensor can stay in place if I ever have to strip it down again

Believe man, believe!!

Is it really that bad Bob?
Sadly it is.... even simple things are a chore because bits haven’t been greased properly or have become rusted to oblivion.
I’ve poly bushes to pop on the anti roll bar but I can’t get the bloody nuts to shift -should be a nice easy job.
Even getting the bumper off fills me with dread !

But, still, it feels good to work on :) -or maybe I’m a masochist !

You've answered that one nicley:D we all have a bit in us in green oval land:cool:

Oh, snd the problem
Is the sensors aren’t registering any speed so the ABS light stays on, it’s very manky in there so it looks like the problem may well be at the hub.
I need to give it a bit of a stern talking to.
I was beginning to think I must’ve missed a retaining bolt or something !

maybe the mole grips and some percussion will break the bond.

Years ago when I had to do front wheel bearing on my p38 had the same with abs sensor stuck fast, on mine the copper cage the sensor sits in was in a steel bush and I managed to get a thin chisel under lip of steel bush to start prise it out then with bush in the vice I cut into it enough to free the sensor, the steel bush is available just dont ask me the part number.
