Timing Cover Breather question

Evening all,

I’ve decided to treat the old girl to a breather kit, and now I’m left puzzled.

Once I removed the camshaft cover plate, I remembered the gasket (ERR635) completely covers the hole, so my question is…. Is the gasket breathable or should I make a hole in, failing that do I be brave and use some instant gasket stuff?
