For information really and you may get the same fault - who knows !
Had an interesting one into the workshop today.
ABS, TC and HDC all lit up. With Engine management light too.
Several faults I think to myself.
ABS fault codes; C1067 Right Rear Sensor, C1051 Left Front Sensor, C1035 Right Front Sensor, C1019 Left Front Sensor.
Could lead you to think the ABS ECU / modulator is broken, however, out with the PScan. Live data and monitored wheel speed. 3 wheels agreed, Left Front was 0 KPH.
Changed LH Front sensor having had to touch the bolt with a mini grinder to take the rust off which would have allowed an 8mm six sided socket to turn as the rust flaked off. I then fitted a 7mm socket and unscrewed it.
This sensor change removed all lights and the speed on all wheels agreed.
So what of the Engine Management light - here is another surprise. On the Engine ECU (TD4) there was fault code P0500 - Vehicle Speed Error.
So that cleared too.
I would never have put the two faults together, neither would most garages spot that one sensor was causing all the fault codes.
Maybe the LH Front sensor has a 'special' role and if missing causes the system to loose reference ??
Might be handy and interest someone ??
Everyday is a school day !!
