Thoughts on EGR removal

You are missing nothing !
It is a simple way of effecting EGR removal and cost nowt...

If a blank or a hollowed out EGR is fitted it improves the air flow. Whether it is noticeable is difficult to answer

For sure, when I cleaned my inlet manifold and EGR (latter wasnt too bad though) it made a heck of a difference
I also thought the reason for getting clogged up could be the sump breather filter being blocked?
