This jack any good?

Personally , I wouldn't use that jack or those stands , those small trolley jacks are unstable and those stands dont look too clever , As one who crawls under cars for a living I cant stress how important good quality jack and stands are

Any recommendations within a sensible budget?
 
I have an SGS 3T low profile trolley jack. No way could it be described as unstable, or small, come to that. Owned it for about 18 months, used, daily. No deterioration in performance in that time.
 
The minimum jack I would use on the L322 is a 3tonne....she is a heavy beast (all up she is 2.5 tonnes) and while, yes, a 2.5 tonne jack would lift a corner or one half of the car, I used to freak when even using my 3t Sealy high lift, and I have used a 12t bottle when needing to lift the whole rear, or whole front.
 
I have a 2.5T JCB, lovely little Jack with the swivelling Jacking thingmy, yes it lifted the 322 but my God you felt it huff n puff.....
M8 offered space in his premises so I went and bought one of these Chinesium death traps.

The jack Is got is 3tons and stands are 3 tons each I also bought a 24 litre air compressor from them all good I always have secondary back up bottle jacks and a stack of heavy duty wood as a failsafe

All the jacks and stands and compressors at machine mart are exactly the same as the ones at SGS the only difference is the paintwork and the price SGS is cheaper they all come from the same place they just put different labels and livery on them.
 
I have the SGS low profile trolley jack and stands for lifting the boxster, when I had it. certainly no complaints with it..

but for the range rover I use the Halfords 4x4 speed lift jack. this one at 59.99

for axel stands.. I have a collection of 2x 3 tonne ratchet axel stands, 2x 2.5 tonne ratchet axel stands, and 4x 2.5 tonne post and pin axel stands.

the 3 tonne ratchet stands are the way to go with the RR, they have a greater height range.

I considered ratchet stands however after a bit of research I watched a YouTube video where a guy tested some after someone had a set fail the results were quite scary he proved they are potentially deadly so I wouldn't but the SGS with double safety pins are safe
