Hi backinblack, good piccys, at least I know now what I am looking at, but I think it will be on the back burner for now, has it only has slight play.
Thank you for input, well appreciated by myself.
This the part they can't fix, special tools etc required, they did mention the other garage, which is another story, thanks once again.

Is that the control arm bush?

Think it's called a rear upper wishbone to hub suspension bush

There's a few, I'm not buying one to find out,@myfirstl322 will enlighten us I hope.
Backinblack is correct, I haven't done a 'rose' joint on an L322 but I've done similar on some mercs, the reason it's called a rose is because it's a bush within a bush, for extra articulation to compensate for anti-dive/squat and a modicum of active toe.

Alas easier to fit than remove, BIB's kit are the tools you need, but can be done with with off-cuts of tubular steel, threaded rod and the longer (25mm) nuts.

'Rose bushes' I believe are a brand of 'all-metal' spherical rod end/bearings like wot you put on race/rally cars, they are much strongerer than a standard item.

I've done them on the XJR.using a press and sockets and bits from my P 38 steering pin kit.;)

Some of the set-ups I've used on my wee 12 ton press is comical, old bearing shells, long sockets, little sockets in an ever decreasing diameter...sometimes the don't like the slop and fire out with 'cloth touching' noise and force! ;):oops:

My mates son lost a part of his thumb heated up a wishbone was pressing the joint out when the heat and grease resulted in the joint exploding.shrapenel flew across the garage, his thumb was the only casualty amazingly.

Ouch... yes some rubber joints can contain oil, sometimes called hydro bushes, much safer to drill out as much rubber as you can and hacksaw through the outer metal shell portion, bit arduous but perfectly safe as the joint usually fall out then.
