Hey,

So found some inspiration on here to clean up and maybe upgrade the heater matrix, whilst splitting it up I found this hole, is it supposed to be there or should I fill it up?

Also the resistor (I’m presuming that’s what it is) does anybody know where can I get that from?

Still toying with the idea of getting the Allisport upgrade, but there is so many mixed reviews  but my logic is, if I replace it now, I know it’s done!! (But the old one, looks nearly new:rolleyes:)

Is it leaking ?

Is the blower motor working at all speeds ?

No idea? It came off the bulkhead I bought and of course I don’t know the history, hence the reason I think I should do it, now I’m thinking maybe the motor as well?

Talking of which.....

Are these metal clips to balance this unit or are they not suppose to be there?

Balance weights, leave them there

Ok thanks, hopefully none fell off whilst I was getting it out

I think I’ll just replace the seals and buy a eberspatcher night heater instead.

Just overhauled mine. The hole is a drain, I'd doubt that the clips are for balance - I think they're too small and wouldn't make any difference to anything, and the resistor can be obtained from that Well Known Auction Site. I got one of these, 50W 2.2Ohm.
As many have said before, worth checking the condition of the sponge on the internal flaps. If perished, won't seal. Check that the flaps close properly too - mine didn't and needed some adjustment.
Hopefully your motor is OK as they're expensive to replace with the proper thing. I used a bilge blower instead at less than a quarter of the price (and that's if you buy Br*tp*rt, which you wouldn't...would you?).
