Today I had a blow out in my trailer while towing two horses ended up with the disco in the barrier and the trailer on its side! All walked away safe tho! Now on the look out for an auto TD5 if anyone can point me in the right direction!!!
aw,what a shame, hope you find one as niceThank you all easier said than done struggling to find an auto disco xx
Glad you are all ok.I loved my disco on the hunt for a new one already but need an auto as I did my towing test in an auto. No blame trailer had a blow out sadly it happens.
Underinflation of trailer tyres is a common issue, most inflate to a fairly high pressure. My cattle box runs 68 psi, would guess a horsebox about the same.Glad you are all ok.
A lot of trailer/caravan 'incidents' are caused by slightly low pressure tyres, this allows the tyre to flex/overheat causing a blow out. Always check pressures with a good quality gauge and replace any tyres over 6/7 years of age. Manufacture dates are stamped on tyres using week/year code (i.e 4509)
As for a replacement car have you considered 'upgrading' your licence to manual gearbox, will give you a lot more choice for now and in the future and could also save money in the long run as auto's are generally more expensive to buy and a lot more to repair if anything goes wrong?
