Forgive my eyesight (I'm using a phone) where's the sheared stud?

looking at the hub screw threads, only one that is visible is damaged, so my guess is that most became loose and fell out. the remaining bolt was put under undue stress and finally sheared.

Its only safety critical if you ride a bicycle!

I use a torque wrench for two things
1, wheel nuts on hgvs
2, cylinder head bolts
Everything else I use common sense
Been fine and dandy for well over 30 years now.

I can't remember the las time I used a torque wrench on anything!
There have been those over the years whoi have challenged my tightening, been invited to check, and found that I have been to within a couple of pounds on the big stuff and generally spot on with the smaller settings.
It's over 40 years since I rebuilt my Series I, and I know that the engine has never been touched since, and it's still purring away!
Mind you, they did have solid chrome plating in the cylinders, which I have never known wear out!
