I'm looking at having the Thinkware F750 or F770 dashcam fitted.
I have a LandRover Vogue 3.6 V8 and wanted to get the F770 installed and hardwired but wanted to add a battery pack to avoid draining the car's battery but also to work with the dascam when in Park mode to record with motion sensing if the vehicle is hit when parked etc.
Can you suggest a reliable battery pack?

Thanks

When my RR was being vandalised by a chavtastic neighbour I ran a mini DVD and camera off of my battery and connected a solar trickle charger which was fine for about a week without starting. The DVD was on motion detect rather than constantly.
Might be another option for you.

I have just hardwired my dash-cam into my car (not my Disco as its still in a million pieces, but that's another story :rolleyes::rolleyes:) hooked it up to a spare ignition powered outlet in the fuse box and with the settings on the cam changed to - Only power up when either the ignition is turned on & the car is running OR if the collision-sensor is triggered. It has its own small lithium battery which gets boosted every time the car is started and so far seems to be enough as I use the car nearly every day.

Not sure the Thinkware F750 has a battery? Says it has a capacitor but not how long that lasts.

Ah, right, Grrrrrr. I didn't read the spec of the dash-cam mentioned. Mines just a cheap & nasty Lidl one, £30 & 3 yrs warranty. For the price its not bad TBH, excellent picture quality even at night.
