Thinking of changing snorkles but...

Thinking of changing snorkels as the bearmach unit i have now isn't all that good in terms of quality. I should have just purchased a mantec or safari snorkel initially but listened to a mate instead!

Obdviously if i do change i will be left with 4 holes in the windscreen frame, i've been told i could fill these but due to the colour i would need to re-spray the whole frame. Do you chaps have any other suggestions to filling/covering the holes? I was thinking of possibly using some rubber blanking grommets with a little sika flex to be sure they were sealed or would this be considered a bit of a bodge?

On my landie I would probably put rivets in it or something (well, i would never be in that situation as I made my own snorkel and it will proobably last as long as the car)...but then I don't think you would notice it on my landie! If yours is a nice shiney thing then it might look a bit naff.

it's a 2002 td5. Pretty shiny!! Bit gutted about the holes but I think the blanking gromets may do the trick, not sure how water tight they would be although some sealant could soon fix this.

Just had another thought...with a mantec plastic jobby the winscreen frame should be covered so you probs couldn't even see the grommets!

Hmm, if I had a 2002 I'd probably want to make a half decent job of it, having the new snorkel covering it up will help though obv!. You could just do a small amount of filler (or chemical metal perhaps which is quite easy to work with and file) and then a touch up pen. I would personally not use rubber grommits. What colour is the car? Metallic?

It's bonatti grey sowould need to spray the whole frame really. I do have a touch up pen & laquer but not sure how well that would work to be honest.

But surely a better job than using a rubber grommit?
