You know what Neilly your right, I'm going to put up a thread, it will be picture heavy but hopefully it will be some sort of informative guide so people like
@davidreid can al least see what they are getting them selves into. David, it isn't as straight forward as you might think doing up an old Landy, its time consuming, its expensive, its full of pot holes, let downs , researching parts, finding decent parts, its hard work, when you peel away the layers you find problem after problem after problem and before you know it you are so deep into it both financially and emotionally that you have to carry on until its done, at this point its no longer fun, its a mission. Second hand parts such as doors (which will be rotten) for that vehicle arnt cheap and a lot of parts such as good LT77 boxes are like hens teeth.
There is a lot to learn and a lot can go wrong if you don't do any research.
So, Ill start on that thread. In the mean time look for rebuild threads, read them, try to understand the changes Defenders went through throughout the years, gearboxes, engines etc. That vehicle is 1988 so its a Ninety not a Defender, that means more than just the badge on the front.
