Hi Guys,
Am completely rebuilding a 2.25 petrol engine and have got round to fitting a new stat. When i put the stat in to bypass casting and placed the top hose casting in top without o ring there is a gap between the two casting, is this normal
I haven't even fitted the o ring the parts manuals show. I remember i had to destroy the old stat to get it out as it was stuck firmly in place. Also no o ring present.
Does the stat outer casing collapse slightly to form a seal and this gap before bolting down is normal
Any thoughts? I dont remember ever seeing this gap before on different engines.
Thanks
