I do not understand why people wants such overcomplicated cars, nice but such sensitive electronic stuff surely will not last for several years if the car is used as it should. This car is for people having lots of money, other cars and living close to the a LR service.

Don't forget that some people will do this very thing and get stuck, as the tide comes in. Maybe JLR are hoping to sell another, after said family have to replace the one that is flood damaged?

Quite possibly, although it seems that this forum has a much higher number of older LR owners, than newer LR owners.
