It is with a slightly heavy heart that I have to announce that I am no longer a Land Rover owner. She went last night.

The better half sold her horse trailer, I don't do off-roading to the same extent that I used to, so truly speaking I no longer have a need for a large heavy 4x4 like our Disco.

I would like thank all of those of you who have helped me over the last 12 yrs, to learn as much as I have about owning and fixing Landys - it's been a real pleasure.

I'd like to hang around here if no-one minds as I might be able to help others?

Thanks again for all the fun, friendship and help, you're a great bunch,

your input has always been helpful. and unless you suddenly get amnesia. i`m sure it still will be.:)
i dont do greenlaning or have a horse box. but owning my landy and keeping it running has become another of my passions. keeps me out of the house as well:D
must have been a hard decision for you.
so what toy will you get now?

To be honest mate I'm not sure, Wend has got herself a cute little Panda which will benefit from some TLC.

But for me I don't know yet. I would really like a proper classic like a Citroen DS - 1960's variety - or a Brit sports car. I'm just sure if money will allow :eek::eek::eek:

AHHH the Citroen DS What a beautiful car and far ahead of its time..
Still holds a good price for a nice one...You wont go far wrong with one of those..Enjoy:):)
 
you could always buy a freelander, still a landy, still offroader, cheaper on fuel but with just as many (if not more) problems to fix!, keeping you off the street and in the garage! :)

Thanks for your help in my 9 years with a disco 1 auto.
Now on a 2002 Disco 2 auto. We don't do off roading and now only about 8000 miles a year. Both in our 70's.
My wife has a bad back and we will put up with the Disco as it is so comfy.
We don't go out of Scotland and manage about 5-6 week breaks in the year all over.

I have taken great pleasure and satisfaction in being able offer a hand from time to time and whilst my main interest will be elsewhere (haven't decided yet) I would still like to share what little I have, with others.

Keep enjoying your Discos, that's what they are there for.

tis a shame your no longer a disco owner,but your advice will be allways welcome to a great many :)
