Thanks for that, I will speak to him at sch.. work in the morning and get back to you.:) I do know he was overtaking a lorry, doing 80 in a 60 zone. The policeman were traffic police (in a marked car I think) and were on a road, off the main road and were able to see a large area of the road in question as they were observing him from an elevated position, so they got a good look at him for quite some time. They acknowledged the fact that he was only speeding for a short period of time, but issued the ticket anyway. It was a 'A' road single carraigeway

I did not say he wanted to contest it, I said can he get off on a technicality because the ticket he was issued with was not signed by the policeman at the time of issuing, that 's all.

if yer cant do the time, dint do the crime , ffs get off on a technicality, so you are saying regardless of the fact that he was speeding by 33% of the roads limit he wants to get away with it because he didnt sign the ticket. if this happens he will then carry on driving recklessly laughing at the law, which, i might add, is there to protect the innocent, not persecute the guilty, until there comes a time when he either kills himself, at which point, no doubt his family will be moaning about, how could this happen, he was such a sensible lad, why did it have to be him, he was such a careful driver, or heaven forbid, he kills an innocent bystander to which his family will no doubt complain, they just pulled out on him, he never stood a chance ffs, get a life, grow up, take the points and feckin learn from it !

Ardnut, A few pointers,

1, He was clocked doing 80mph in a 60mph zone.

2, He was overtaking another moving vehicle.

3, He accepted the ticket without dispute.

4, By accepting the ticket he admitted the offence.

5, He was observed for some distance.

He has got about as much chance of getting off as i have ****ting in the queens handbag !!!!!:D

However, if he wants to pay me £225ph +vat, Then i will of course do my best for him.

In legal circles we have a word for people who break the speed limit,

WRECKLESS ****S !!!!!

Hey Yella, get off your soap box for a minute and listen. I was asking a what the chances of him getting off with it were. Peolple get off on technicalities (or so we here) when some clever lawyer gets him off with a loop hole in our wonderful legal system. People get off with stuff all the time when they are clearly guilty, and there are always travesties of justice, but it is the well paid lawyer that does this. I agree with you and Retsgom, speeding is reckless, but I was merely asking a question on his behalf. Don't tell me you have never exceeded the speed limit; I will call you a liar.

ffs ardnut you've got atleast another 3 years afore you can get a permit ti kill by drivin. so sit down take a deep breath and listen to yer elders..

yes i have exceeded the speed limit, and i have always agreed with the speed i have been told.never once have i tried to get away with it. not so long ago i had to plead to keep my licence with 14 points on it. im not proud of this fact, to be honest im amashed of it. i'm now down to 8 points and hopefully in a couple of years i will have a clean licence.

Everybody exceeds the speed limit !!!!!!

Its a matter of where and when you speed, and by how much!!!!!

Ive got 3 points on my licence right now for speeding, I was doing 37mph in a 30mph limit zone, and do you know what ???? I never even considered fighting it !!!!!

Why not i hear you ask ???? A lawyer not getting it overturned on a technicality ???? I tell you why not, 7 years ago my uncle got wiped out by a speeding driver, He was on his way home from work and got mowed down by a prat doing 55mph in a 30mph limit, If you had seen the look of total devestation on my dads face when he got the phone call, well it still upsets me to this day.

So when i was stupid enough to speed and i was caught then taking my punishment was really the only option !!!!! I got 3 points and a £60 fine, So what 60 quid, WOW !!!!! You can never put a value on a persons life so why endanger them for the sake of being 5 minutes late ?????

Oh yes ardnut, I get paid to lie for other people, BUT I NEVER LIE TO MYSELF !!!!!

Hey, slow down. I asked a question, got my answer, thankyou. I did not ask for the lecture.

eer! retsy am being hounded by a mobile phone company fer 220 notes. i got a phone from then , nevva signed owt. phone worked normally fer about 3 days then faded to nuffin over the next 3 days.
tried to contact thenm by phone, left fer ages listen to **** music so i gave up after the 4 or 5 attempts. then e mailed them, result nowt. so i took it apon meself to send phone back to them telling them it wur fooked.
i get a letter back from them saying they had destroyed the sim card fer security propoises.
next i get a bill from them fer a month contract wiff the phone. nevva paid it as the phone dint work and it cost me to send it back to them.
same the following month
the next month the phone comes back minus a sim card. so ah phone them
they tell me the phone doesn't work cos i havenn't paid them. they dint listen to me telling them i int paid cos it dint work. so i hung up as it wur getting borin.
they kept sending bills even though i coudn't use the phone, i kept ignoring them.
i get a letter from a debt collector so i send them one asking for 330 notes to cover sending phone back, time spend hanging on the phone listening to crap music, grief caused by the monthly bills fer something i can't use. finished off by telling them to stop wasting time writing to me as i wont be openning anymore letters from them.
every month the same new bill and a letter from the DC's, both chucked straight in the bin witout even reading them.
anyways i get a letter today saying if i dint payup in 3 days thur takin me to court.
so am i right in thinking they can get to **** as they have not kept to their side of the contract, which i nevva signed in the first place?

Cockey Bastard !!!!!

Re: Speeding - alas not Landy related
First of all, Dont admit the offence and dont send back there letter !!!!!

The plod love it when you put your hands up and say twas me officer !!!!!

Im sure you were on your way to help your poor old sick mother or your carb butterfly had jammed wide open !!!!!

The local CPS office will make a choice of course only on the information that YOU supply , You NEVER say it was you driving the vehicle, it may even end up forgoten about and lost in there system.

They only have 60 days to in law to get a reply from you , so sit on the letter and see what happens next !!!!!

Slob.

No signed contract, You walk away from them.:D

They will never take you to court because it will cost them more than its worth, So my advice is to just ignore them.:D

The debt collection company will have purchased the debt for about £50, When they have sent around £30 in letters with no result they will walk away and forget about it !!!!!:D

IF YOU READ THE THREAD IN FULL, IT RELATES TO SPEED CAMERAS !!!!!

YOUR "FRIEND" HAD HIS OFFENCE WITNESSED BY A TRAFFIC OFFICER !!!!!

NOW CAN YOU SPOT THE DIFFERANCE BETWEEN THE 2 ?????
