AT LAST - SHE GOES!!!

After weeks of trying this and that (not entirely wasted though as I learned lots) - I finally sussed out what the problem was.

One of the injector seats (no 3) was not sealing, kept blowing. I tried everywhere to get a seat cutter to no avail. Eventually, today I made a heath robinson cutter out of various plumbing bits and pieces - and it worked.

The no 3 valve was cut perfectly with my new wonder tool...and I sucked the swarf out with another heath robinson tool (vac cleaner plus taped on rubber pipe to reduce the size)

And jobs a good'un!!

Next job fit a front output shaft bearing kit ready for MOT.
:):):):)

Off for test drive now :)

Further update - now that I have had time to do a few miles and also to tow my small caravan 400 miles

The good news is - that it is going beautifully. Even the 3 amigos seems to have gone!!

I love her again now <3

:high5:

It was weeks of pulling my hair out in despair...doubting my own abilities...and trying just about everything. And in the end it was one just one injector seat that needed recutting.

Latest update (10th Dec) after re cutting no 3 injector seat more than a month ago it is still running perfectly, 3 amigos still haven't reappeared, and today she passed her MOT. All is well with my world again :5bhurray:

Next job - break upgrade.

thats why i always view my mot being done ,i find the hammering never seems so hard when your standing there , plus i only ever take my motors to a place that only does mots and nothing else , that way theres no more money in it for them other than a part retest if you don't get it back to them in the allotted time ..
