I am a comparably new (and very happy) 2004 L322 owner. However, I thought it would be interesting to talk about the new 2013 Range. Let me be clear - I couldn't afford one if I sold everything I own ... and then put it on red or black and won - but perhaps in 10 years it'll be on my radar.
From what I've seen so far, I'm pleased it keeps to the Range tradition in terms of styling without becoming too 'bling' away from its original intention. Apart from the light units spreading into the panelling, from the outside in my initial view it keeps, very nicely, to tradition with a comtemporary inspiration. The interior looks pretty plush, though I'm concerned that the buckets of central console vaneer looks a little like my 80 year old Dad's bakelite 'wireless' with its streaky bacon design. Small fry in the bigger picture.
On a more technical level, the new all-aluminium body structure seems to be a material advance being c.40% lighter ... and for those can afford petrol like I can afford Lucozade Sport, the supercharged 5.0 (US only?) does 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be much press about its real, new, world offroad capabilities.
I'd be fascinated to know everyone's views.
