It's exactly what it says on the ad a Santana PS10. A mostly Defender body, on mostly series 3 chassis and suspension, with a very nice 2.8 TD engine and a ZF (on post 07) gearbox.
Yes it is.im not sure, but I think they are Spanish.

I know, you have to actually use the dipstick to check the oil, rather than just examine the drips I do like the fact that the back door and interior is designed specifically to allow a standard euro pallet to be slid in though. They're a bit ****e though cause they never got the hang of building the leaks in properly
Not out of business, exactly, just taken over by IVECO who now build a version called the Massif.Think they went out of business. Used to assemble land rover knocked down kits?
More comfortable seating position than a defender apparently.
I have driven a couple of PS10's and I really quite like them. Although based on the Defender and series 3, they are not really like either to drive. The comfort is a definite improvement over the series 3, and comparable to the Defender as they are on parabolic rather than leaf springs. The interior is also nicer than the basic Defenders. The 2.8 tdi is a superb engine, comparable in power to the td5, but with the reliability of the 300tdi. Build quality though can be a problem, very hit and miss, with many of them being even worse than a Defender, and nowhere near as durable. Off road, they are more comfortable and capable than a series, but not quite up to the Defenders abilities.Iveco is no longer in production as far as I know, I am genuinely surprised about people not knowing about santanas? the pentland ranger service has a SW and it has a lot more room inside than the defender, good engines too, not sure about the fiberglass tops though
I saw one a while back where the owner had grafted on a defender front end, looked good and 1/2 the price of a 07 defender
