Morning all, wonder if you can put my mind at ease..... after giving my defender 90 a bit of a jostling at the weekend (greenlaning in mid Wales) I noticed that whilst back on tarmac there seems to be a disconcerting lag when I apply the throttle. What I mean is if I feather the throttle the drive seems to lag and it sounds like the gears are having to catch up with the speed of the axles.not heard this before and not sure if somethings not right. Is this a normal noise, have I explianed myself well enough for you guys to tell me to stop whittling and its perfectly nor,al for a defender........hope you can help

Cheers

Sounds like clutch is slipping. Did you fit wadeing plugs?
Might just have got the clutch wet and dirty, best case it will sort itself worst case is new clutch

hi Johns 90, only breathers to axles. Whats best to do to sort itself. Run it around for a bit or let her stand for a couple of days.

Remove wading plugs to drain, if nothing drains just drive steadily for a while. I had this on my Disco first time (quite a few years ago now) I took it wading and I **** myself thinking I'd broke it. Mine slipped on every roundabout when it happened.

Might take a couple of days but it should sort itself out when it all dries up!
