It's a little meaningless though without comparison to other decarbonising treatments and impossible to say whether it's worth the considerable money. Taking a diesel for a blast on the motorway will improve emissions ffs.

What really annoys me is the number of threads started on forums across the net, typically by low post members, that start along the lines of "Wow I'd thought I'd share this with you guys...."

There seems to be a deliberate company spam policy and it leaves a nasty taste (of snake oil)

I'm sure you were a low post member at one time, seems every thread I see you on you have nothing constructive to say. Who gives a #### what people put on here it's for sharing information and advise. Get off ya ####ing high horse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The point isn't that the OP has a low post count but rather that after spending 2 years making an average of 1 post every 3 months feels compelled to tell us all about an expensive and slightly questionable treatment in a manner that is being repeated in forums all over the Internet.

I suspect that many of the original posts are made by people that have invested money to be one Terraclean agents and also suspect customers are encouraged to post about how wonderful the product is.

Some posts are probably genuine but there's far too many and they are far to similar for all of them to be.

There seems to be a deliberate company policy of spamming as a means of advertising and to me that says more about the product than anything else.

I'm afraid I havent got a high horse but I could look to see if I can lift the saddle up on my bicycle if that helps
 
It doesnt matter how many posts a year people put on who frickin cares if thats what they wanna put on let em. Doenst give you the right to jump in and start slagging the guy off.

Maybe someone on hear wants a terraclean and thought it was a insteresting thread, i had a look cous iv never heard of it and wanted to know about it, isent that what a fourms all about ???

Bottom line is chill out get out a bit more, reading post statistics on every fourm on the net cant be good for ya health.

Are you hard of understanding?

I've already said post count doesn't matter but what does matter is whether opinions posted are genuine or spam advertising.

If sarky comments have you throwing toys out of your pram perhaps you've joined the wrong forum.

If the OPS post is genuine and hasn't been encouraged by the company or its agents I'm quite capable of apologising for myself and I'm quite happy to do so.

determining the difference between underhanded advertising and genuine opinions is a lot more useful to people who are considering paying for the treatment than wetting your panties :p

Here's a closeup of a nozzle which was overfuelling so much, it was undriveable (it was a fun experiment). It took nothing more than a wipe with a tissue to clean it back to near-shiny steel



On most other injectors I've removed, there's just a blackening of the steel - no carbon buildup

2-stroke, or veg oil, smooths a diesel at idle/medium load. Really quite a nice, noticeable difference tbh. 2 stroke is better than veg for the engine, as it leaves less gumming up over a long period of use, but BOTH reduce the effective calorific value of the fuel by a small amount.... not that you'd ever notice on a day to day basis :lol:

That engine needs more than just its injector wiped
 
Can't comment on the effectiveness of products like that but as an ex mechanic and driving assessor for my current company I can back up the effects of driving style on an engine

Briefly worked for citroen (****ty company to work for by the way) and we used to service the motability cars, a lot of which were the original mark 1 xsara picasso diesels , the majority of motability cars spent their lives pootling to the shops and back and the amount of black smoke that would be emitted on road test when given a bootfull was unreal!

And as a driving assessor for currently company ive seen it countless times ive seen people dive straight for 5th or 6th gear at 30 mph instead of a gear appropriate for the road speed and when questioned on why they do that often the reply is " i was taught to do that" so they are reeducated as part of the course. I've even had them come up to me after returning to their own car and they are amazed at how much more sprightly the cars feel as they are driving them as they should be.

I think this sort of maximum economy style of driving is the reason products like these have become popular as its causing the issue that these products are designed to cure.

But personally i'm a firm fan of a giving the car a damn good thrashing every once in a while :)

300TDi injector nozzles, on a Rover 220SD (mechanical pump, lowest pressure pump of all the L series engines). Anything above 1/4 throttle resulted in a smokescreen that James Bond would be envious of - plus it went SLOWER, as the fuel was not atomising in the slightest, just kinda pouring out.

This was the only one I managed to remove without disturbing the tip - it was only a light buildup of soot, not rock-hard carbon :)
