As heading suggests as a temporary solution to my head gasket troubles, I have bought another p38 diesel.. The plan is, to get someone to remove my engine and I can rebuild it from the ground up. . Or I may swap the best bits of 1 car into the other. At least I am mobilev again and not having to borrow my sons car.

Isn’t this how Data and Wammers ended up with 3? :p:D:cool:
It starts with one more

Going back to driving a car when you are used to a P38 is a terrible experience. You have my sympathies
I bought the second one with a cracked head for parts, stuff is not so easy to get from breakers over here, I have had more than my money back in parts. Number 3 is a left hooker bought for my French wife, unfortunately she prefers my RHD P38:(

Keith, it's not yours.. It ours!! :D

Although I fear im going to hear that weird QI Klaxon for saying this.......................... but has anyone suggested Steel Seal?

I know its naff but it worked for me for 18 months or so and I intended to overhaul the cooling system when I replaced the head anyway... which i did... thanks to Grrrrr..... and now all is well....

Hopefully not. A properly fitted decent quality gasket does not go pop every five minutes on these engines.

Wammers you are as reliable as a clock and as boring reading war and peace . if you have nothing constructive to say then shut up.

Water glassing solution i've had good success with on engines i couldn't give a fck about..
It seemed to work a tad too well..

For the sake of a few quid you could try it on your 6 pot..

Sorry but if you cannot accept experienced logic there is nothing for you. About time you realised some know a lot more than you do. If you want to use snake oil against good advice then be my guest.

I wish you would just read posts instead of continually using inane comments.NOWHERE have I said I would use " snake oil" I have however said that I may remove the old engine and find out the cause of the trouble and rebuild it. AGAIN if you have nothing constructive to say then SAY NOWT

You quite obviously don't have a clue what you are doing. I try to help anyone i can, but if you don't want help that is your problem. Just read the title of this thread that you posted. If you had a coolant leak into the inlet side of the engine a sealer may work for a while. If you have a coolant leak combustion chamber to water jacket, no additive will stop it leaking. I offer good advice if you don't like it stop asking for help.

ITS NOT ME THAT IS TALKING ABOUT PUTTING ADDITIVES IN THE ENGINE . READ THE BLOODY POST PROPERLY. THE TEMPORARY SOLUTION IS ANOTHER R/R UNTIL I SORT THE PROBLEM OUT PROPERLY.WHATS THE MATTER WITH YOU?

Stop shouting now there's a good lad. And what type of suggestions from others did you expect using that thread title. Anyway you carry on you obviously know best.
