So what relay will u be ordering?
You only have one relay associated with lighting, that is the dim-dip relay.
The dim-dip relay is easy isolated by unplugging the resistor in the engine bay.

Cheers discool so no relay for lights would the dim dip cause the low beam to fail or dim headlights or would this be the column switch playing up you will have to excuse me hey I'm still learning :) .

I never heard of the dim-dip having issues back in the days when they were fitted, unlike the switch.
So if you still wish to keep the dim-dip function isolate it from the lighting system and to see if your lighting issue returns, if not just reconnect, but then if it dose the problem is the light switch.

My disco dim-dip system has been disconnected for years now since I installed LED side light bulbs, these filled the lamp with a white light until the dim-dip was on, both together it didn’t look very good.

may help

Before you test out complex stuff, check the light connector on the back of the bulb hasn't turned into a melted ball.

Like they usually do.
