The cable into the temperature sensor on the top of the engine (multi-pin) is routed around the back of the engine and enclosed in a heat protecting conduit. This conduit has melted (it had been pulled against the exhaust outlet pipework) and subsequently broken, though the two core wire appears undamaged. I'm assuming this needs to be kept safe
I've attached a couple of pics in case these make my ramblings more coherent!
I can't see where the cable goes to so I'm assuming I can't just replace the whole cable (even if that were necessary).
Couple of questions
1) Could I break into this wire and insert an additional length so that it was not pulled so tight?
2) Any ideas for a replacement conduit to use? What's the temperature in this area of the engine?
