I thought the cold start light wuz only fer doosuls & glowed when the key wuz half turned to show the glow plugs were pre-heating t'injun properly.

If it can be wired like that as kind of choke warning I might just do that to mine. Otherwise it just sits there looking redundant & reminding me how much cheaper it wuz running me doosul III.

Yep its in the book for petrol engins
There is two part to it
1. a temp sensor in the cylinder head
2. a switch on the choke cable.

S'very sarfistikayted. Who says Land Rovers is agricultural. That wuz prob' cutting edge in it's day.

Cor, I'll find a way o' doing that on mine. Hate things that just sit there & don't do anything!

Well i've just found out that someone has removed the voltage regulator.

Just fitted a new voltage regulator or voltage stabiliser as it said on the packet
All ok now. Temp showing well in the normal section of the guage.
Trouble is i thought i had half a tank of fuel but now shows nearly empty.

try replacing the voltage regulator behind the speedo have had problems in the past

No Just 2a and 3 i'm hoping to comleat the set by getting a 1 and a 2b some time if the missis will let me.

The cable i snaped off was the cold start sensor just to the right of the thermostat on the cylinder head.
