christ... we would be changing our gearboxes more often than our underwear!

I would have thought- different injectors, obviously an ecu remap, uprated turbo and intercooler- what about a bolt on supercharger

haha who cares ! :D

got the remap.... it works wonders :p

the gearbox loves it, holds gears for longer = less gear changes :D

I'm getting one of those soon- could do with a bit more power, what with all the hills round here.
On the modding point- I am pretty sure years ago a mate of my dads had a 3.0 diesel 5 series which had been heavily modded- with something like 350hp. God knows what had been done to it.
My merc with the infamous om606 diesel can be modded to 450 bhp- and then stuck in a Volvo-

Td6 injectors are not coded to ecu,do a leak off test ,post the results ,does it turn over more than usual to fire it up?changed loads of these .like previously said check both electric pumps are working,in tank and inline one.

fires up straight away, no hesitation- just lumpy. Months back it was a little lumpy so I put some Forte diesel treatment in and it was a lot better.
What size tubing do I need? or should I buy a leak off test kit?

You get Sealey leak off test kit for around 40 quid on eBay does 6 cylinders,or can make your own but will have to source the push in ends that hold leak off pipes to injector, don't want to start messing with your original pipes if you don't have too, always a handy tool to have lying around,

Spoke to Friend from maccalister fuel systems today td6 injectors are not coded however they can be coded for optimum fuel efficiency friend says he has change single injectors in them a dozen times with no problem. A asked a price to get them over hauled and there are 120£ a piece hope that's some help to you

Thanks yes that is helpful! Took all the covers off today, changed air filter, fuel filter and thoroughly cleaned EGR valve- was pretty coked up. Took a nosey at the crankcase breather filter, not very dirty but will replace it with the cyclone variety at some point.
Tried upclipping the injector cables one at a time with the engine running to see if there was any difference. Couldn't really be sure- I think a leak off test is needed. Cheapest I can find a kit is about £100!

Get rid of that EGR all together and fit a bypass

Engine runs much better once bypassed

Thanks Dove- will buy that now.
Ellis- don't get this started again- we will be here all night!
My EGR is as clean as a whistle now- but will consider blanking it in the future. How much is a blanking kit?
