yes yes another one of those!
Ive just picked up another td5 (mainly to annoy the wife as its a higher spec than hers) as a none runner. 2003. So 15p engine.
Ive got it turning over, changed the fuel pump (old one wasn't activating), and its now making the good ol bbzzzzz as it should. However its not building pressure up, the fuel seems to be running straight back to the tank. The note of the fuel pump should change as it builds up pressure etc. Theres none of that it just runs like its free flowing.
Does go to the fuel filter, (if i whip the water plug off the bottom with the pump on it will absolutely pour out)
Pump turns on for 20 or so secs then off, then back on, off, on.
Valve on the fuel filter? (im not sure how the fuel system works exactly on the td5 to be honest), oil level isn't rising in the block. Cant see any leaks anywhere.
Any thoughts? Im stuck to running around in a gaylander till its fixed!
