hi guys, i have to fit a new water pump onto the disco 2 td5 with air con.

looking at island (£16.99) and paddocks (£29.99) these are both aftermarket items, are these going to be reliable?

had a price for one over here and it works out to £130, dont know if its genuine or not, dont suppose i will ever find out.

anyway, does any one know what gaskets i will need. ie turbo

cheers lads

ps diesel still 75 p a litre here

looking at a quinton hazelone for £51.

also after some service parts but its a bit tricky as you have to put in part number, so having to go from paddocks for the part no. back to this other mob to enter it. parts catalogue would be double handy.

cheers sierrafery

check this out(select microcat , then modell from left > and so on untill the part u need) Microcat - Spare parts Land Rover catalogue in English

cheers sierrafery, i also found one http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/images/PDFs/Discovery2.pdf

i was looking at the parts site that you sent and the makes for the gaskets were landrover-britpart-allmakes-bearmach. lots of people on this site dont rate britpart and allmakes and bearmach are cheaper. are they all **** and should i just shell out for the LR ones.

IMO they're not all bad... if the part is OEM(original equipment manufacture) or "premium branded" it doesnt have to be the most expensive genuine LR one... usually "replacement part iso..." are sh*t regardless of supplyer. ... i've sent u the link cos IMO these guys have the most various offer from every parts

If you change the pump the way I did it you wont need any gaskets. I put a post up some 2 weeks ago explaining how I did it. All you will need apart from the pump (mine was a Quinton Hazell) is a new seal between the power steering/water pump carrier and the engine block.
