I'm looking to do this... Does it give you any more grunt as mine is feeling a little flat, new airflow sensor improved it but I think my cat may be blocked?

If you're sure that you have a cat in your exhaust downpipe, then just replace that component on it's own and the engine will breath much better without making it too noisy.
If the engine is running a bit flat, have you cleaned the MAP sensor on the inlet
manifold?
Have you checked the red plug on the main engine ECU for oil contamination?
