TD5 Starting issue

over the last couple of weeks my TD5 has developed a starting issue.

its like the battery is flat but it isnt it will click and nothing, then all of the sudden it will click and start. other time it will be normal.

when it clicks it shows the lights on the dash and the orange fog light indicator

previous work done is clutch, cant see this having a hand.

anyone any other ideas what the problem may be?

Far from being knowledgeable, but sounds like a wiring issue?

The starter has a contacter on the side of it which can become burned and faulty, could be worth a look, there is a kit to repair it can be found on e bay quite cheaply.

+1 for the above, I had the same issue, a repair kit sorted mine out, still starting great after 3 years.

Does sound as if the solenoid is not making a good contact and so failing to engage the starter. The repair kit should sort it.
