Td5 silencer removal.

One of the first things I did when I bought my TD5 90 was fit a centre silencer delete pipe, Ebay bargain, £1 if I remember correctly.
Really made next to no difference to sound levels.
Today I spent half a day making up a silencer delete rear pipe and looking forward to a but more noise, was a bit concerned it would be too noisy. Absolutely no difference whatsoever, how very disappointing!
Atleast it only cost me £25 rather than a hundred odd for a straight through.
Don't know why Land Rover bothered to fit any silencers in the first place?

Have you got a cat fitted?

Try sitting at 70 for 3 hours. They make a huge difference.

Yes I have a cat fitted, would remove it but since it's illegal to do so I will keep it.
I guess it makes a big difference without a cat.

Then it wont make much of a difference at all.

It didn't!
Land Rover could have saved some money and not bother to fit the silencers to vehicles fitted with a cat.
