Hi all, probably the age old question. I have 200 litres of heating oil spare. Can I do a 50 / 50 mix with diesel and will she run without damage. Answers on a postcard? Thanks

apparently the td5 was originaly developed for the MOD so it would run on kerosene (ie aviation fuel) then as it was to reliant on electronics the MOD decided to not have the engine and stick with the 300tdi
dont know much about fuels as in differance between um, best to PM charlesY on here he's the td5 fuel guru ;)

I would say no, on modern diesels the high pressure pumps are reknown for being fussy on fuels, best to stick with diesel and save yourself the £600+ it will cost to repair...

will run handsome in td5 but will knacker 300 ,rotary pump u see.unit injector in td5 almost nothing to wear and loads about now cheap 2/h.will not have as much power.i had customer with turbo prob and when fixed could not work out was down a bit powerwise until i was informed he worked in airport fuel area!
