What oil do people use in td5 engines done alot of reading and seen alot of difference
I think my garage puts synthetic in, I just say to them "Do it" and they do it!Cheers I'll be getting 5w30 but fully synthetic or semi?
Your choice of oil depends largely on the temperatures you can expect where you live. I use 5W/30.

I recon that's probably true.I have had these conversations on many car forums over the years. I think it's true to say that no car has ever failed due to the quality of oil used (supermarket v Mobil 1 etc) but many have failed due to lack of oil changes.
I use Halfords own synthetic oil, its made by Comma and cheap enough to allow frequent changes, especially if you have a trade card or wait until they have an offer and stockpile it in the shed. I prefer 5W 40 I think after 118 K miles the engine is a bit less rattly using that.
Bonus I'm off to get some oil tomorrow
Why 5 ? Planing a trip up ere, north ish5w40 I'm after
