TD5 new fuel pump won't fire; relay fine

Hi, guys, we replaced the faulty (as seemed at the time) fuel pump with a new Siemens one, the relay is fine, but it won't make any noise at ignition. Are there any usualsuspects for this situation? Does it most likely mean the cables are causing it?

It's a 2006 TD5 90.

Answering my own question: the problem was with a cut wire under the seat.

Guys, just a short update: the fuel pump was fine, it was a cut wire after the relay, so we found out only after installing the new pump. Should have taken the pump off and checked the wires/connector on the pump, but I ordered a new one before taking the old one off.
