Ok so here's another of those questions that us non-mechanics like to ask and all you experienced grease-monkeys get to laugh at us about......
My 2004 D2 TD5 Manual was obviously originally bought by a complete tight-arse who didn't want to pay out the extra for the optional diff lock. Shame, as otherwise it's a really well spec'd Disco and seem to generally be in excellent condition (well, for a Landy anyway, there's always 8 or 9 faults from the factory so the 9 or 10 little issues I've got seems damn good to me!).
I've got to change the clutch soon so i'm thinking that's a perfect time to have the box out and do the seals.
What i'm wondering is, would be be a simple case of getting another transfer box and just swapping it over to give me a diff lock or is there more to it that i'm missing? (see, this would be the point when it would be really useful if my mechanical knowledge when further than doing an oil change!)
