Hi all, now I have searched though many (many many) posts to try and find a solution.
Basically I have a 1999 td5 90 with msb ecu, the thing lurches like I don’t know what at lower revs.
So far I have:
Checked all pipes for cracks and fitting, all fine (as far as I can see),
Replaced maf sensor,
Cleaned map sensor,
Fitted egr blanking kit,
Had a full service,
Replaced throttle pedal and sensor with a known good one,
Unplugged clutch pedal sensor to see if that’s at fault (no different)
Replaced injector loom, no
Oil at ecu.
Have read that early 10p td5 was known for this trait and that upgrading ecu can help, would a remap have same effect?
It’s doin my head in!!!
Thanks in advance for any
Advice offered.
Cheers

Is the landy physically lurching or is more engine misfire the only time mine actually lurched when setting off was when parking brake was sticking.then it was like a Kangaroo.

Best I can describe is at low revs with whiff of throttle I get a surging power delivery almost like you would pumping throttle pedal.
After researching extensively (not) I concur kangaroo S jump or hop.

The throttle is fly by wire you may have a problem with the throttle positioning sensor, (accelerator pedal) this can be swapped,, look on ebay or online, you should be able to pick one up cheaply.

Sounds like you have done everything up to getting it on a diagnostic machine of some sort.
Maybe ask if anyone nearby has one.
Dont think you can remap the early ones, later ones can be done I think.
Just have to step up to the next stage and either get it diagnosed at the dealer or maybe get one of the aftermarket ones for yourself.
There is a guy on ebay in your area doing a £25 diagnostic on td5s, he comes to you.

They were, and IIRC, were recalled by LR, as some were totally undriveable ( neighbour had one - I suggested a match and some petrol - he wasn't keen :D )... Might be worth checking with LR if it was recalled ...

Diagnostics would be my next step ..... :)
