yup we tried that too, kept pumping the clutch but no fluid came out, but the gears are now working?we even took the bleed nipple right out of the slave cylinder and no fluid came out.
Did you try poking anything in the hole when you took the bleed screw out?
Cheers
There must be fluid there. When you poked whatever in the hole did it go in without a problem?
If as you say you can now drive the vehicle and change gear without a problem. May be worth looking at a new slave cylinder. Have you opened the bell housing wading plug to see if any fluid comes out? Cheers

Thanks for the advice, heated it up a wee bit then using a pair of mole grips gripped the filler plug and with some force it finally came undone. New oil now in the gear box old filler plug in place but not tightened up, just waiting on new plug hopefully arrive Saturday morning .thanks for that we did also try a breaker bar still would not shift, heating it was the next idea. Like your tip about the resin nice one
OK, sounds good, Now , did you empty the old oil out? Also , the oil you put in, who told you it was the same stuff? Cheers
Neilly you seem to say things but not back up what your saying with reasons as to why your saying them, it's almost as if your taken the mick I apologise whole heartily if your not but I'm no mechanic I brought the Landy coz I've always liked them since I was a young lad, and I want to learn how maintain and repair it as much as possible , which is why I joined this forum.
So please be kind and answer my questions
I have answered your questions as far as I am concerned, however I am a great believer in you doing your own homework. ( you can give a man a fish or teach give him the tools and knowledge to fish ) Otherwise you are relying on others to answer questions that you should be able to get the answers to yourself, I did give you the specs to the fluid and quantity that you asked originally.
I personally do not think using the oil you have used is correct , which is why I have asked the question I now have. But as it as upset you. you do not have to feel any reason to answer.
you can use dexron 3 , the box was originally designed using dexron 2,what is vital whichever you use is frequent changing ie once a yearis Texaco the only oil I can use as local Halfords do not do it. Cant find it on Eurocarparts. Need to get it sorted by end of day tomorrow and cant find anywhere local
box will run on any oil, its the baulk rings that needs a thin vicosityNo not upset more annoyed that I may have been misled by local car parts shops as none stocked the Texaco oil and said it would take about a week to order but the Comma stuff I got was correct stuff. Which means I may have to order the correct stuff now and do yet another oil change. Could the oil I put in cause me any problems or damage the gearbox.
and if its not the right vicosity, what happens to the baulk rings?box will run on any oil, its the baulk rings that needs a thin vicosity
they wear ,dexron 3 should be available everywhere its a common power steering and auto fluidand if its not the right vicosity, what happens to the baulk rings?
Try calling Eurocarparts and asking , they used to do it. But it does not have to be Texaco,Cheers

ftc4112 is the drain plug washer, if you have a rag to push over the hole you wont lose all of it, though a washer can be used more than once as long as it doesnt leakthe guy in Eurocar parts recomended the comma stu
it was out of stock too or so i was told. cant move it anyway until I get a new filler plug, and also I notice the manual says to replace the drain plug washer, it did not have one, so will need to order one so to fit it I'm gonna need to empty it again anyway.
