TD5 Gear box oil HELP!

I just downloaded it to my laptop

From the downloads folder, copy it to a new folder on your desktop.
Double click on the rave icon and you should get a new folder showing Rave ( vehicle list)
Double click on the folder and you will see a list, scroll down to the first "Landrover" badge icon click on that and then click accept.
Click on the RAVE starting page
follow that and you will find the info you need.

it maybe that my laptop and the works computers run on 64bit not the 32bit as recommended. Also I cant copy it on to my desktop as suggested as soon as I try to open it a small window appears for burning onto CD/DVD rom once burnt a few files appear most take me to the Acrobat reader which I already have. other files seem to be just a cover picture for RAVE.

Mine runs 64bit.............
I have just downloaded a copy as per the instructions above.

One thing is I am running a virtual DVD drive for it to use on my desktop,

we tried that and get the same thing a list of files some just a link to download acrobat reader others just a front cover type photo

If you get a list of files, then scroll down to the first LR oval icon amd click on that.

Update on the gear change situation.
Silly me was looking at the wrong clutch fluid reservoir, the correct one had only a small amount of fluid at the bottom of it. Now with help I topped it up then my mate tried to bleed air out the system by releasing the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder, now we tried and tried and tried but no fluid came out at all. The good news is I have gears now, I took the Landy for a nice wee spin and it was fine, but why the hell can we not get any fluid to come out the slave cylinder?

So your clutch was not working correctly.

Try reverse bleeding it
Are you losing fluid?

if the system has been empty, it will often need bleeding at the master cylinder before fluid will be pushed down to the slave , blocked bleed nipple is not uncommon

we have had a good look and cant see any leaks from the clutch system, we even took the bleed nipple right out of the slave cylinder and no fluid came out. After pumping the clutch for ages and given me a sore leg and cramp at 3am the fluid level has not gone down.
Reverse Bleeding will be next we ran outta time last night, because my mate after trying his best to get the filler plug off the gearbox and failing took the drain plug out enough to loose about 100 to 200ml of fluid.
So next question how the feek do we get the filler plug out?

We took the bleed nipple right out and checked it was not blocked there. I know nothing about bleeding the system my mate never mentioned bleeding the master but now you've said it it kinda makes sense

I am not even going to try and understand the idea of removing a drain plug , when you know the filler plug does not come out........

Stupid question, but are you sure you are using the correct tool to undo the filler plug? what are you using and what size?

No I did not understand his idea of removing the drain plug either but its done move on as they say.
T55 Torx bit is the tool to undo the filler plug but it just wont budge

there is no bleed screw at the master cylinder and the manual only points at bleeding air out of the slave cylinder if there is air in the system

It would not budge, put a length of pipe on the ratchet and stripped it a bit. We can still get the torx bit to go in and hold but the filler plug will not budge.

Have you tried to very carefully apply a little heat to the plug?

If you do, Do not set fire to the rest of the Landie, and have an extinguisher / water hose ready to use.

Do not use a ratchet to try and undo something like that, use a breaker bar. If it has started to strip then you may also want to try plastic metal , mix it , pushed into the plug, insert the torx into the resin, wait until it has hardened , then try it.

thanks for that we did also try a breaker bar still would not shift, heating it was the next idea. Like your tip about the resin nice one
