I have just replaced the fuel pump on my 110 td5, as my fuel guage had stoped working. I also ended up replacing the return pipe form the filter to the pump as it snaped while lowering the tank.
when got the tank connected up again and almost in position, i thought i should make sure it worked so i followed the fuel priming procedure as desribed in the haynes manual. This worked and the engine ran, i stoped it and started it, and it fired imeditly..... Great so i put the tank back in.
I went to start it yesterday and it wouldnt start, the engine turns over but wont fire. I can hear the pump working and theres no sign of any diesel leaking from anywhere. was thinking its air in the system, but it strated before, so if i try carrying out the priming the system again could i end up flooding the engine?

any help would be much appreciated.

First try pressing the emergency fuel cut off switch in the engine bay. It may have tripped out.

If that fails then try priming the system again. It may be that air is getting in and allowing the fuel to return. You can't flood a diesel in the same way you can a petrol

i am following manual, it says; switch on ignition wait 3 mins, switch off for 15 secondsand repeat 6 times then with accelerator depressed start the engine, it worked when the tank was almost in position but have not tried it again yet.

mate i work for landorver i got a easier methord ignition 2 then press accelerator down 5 times then the engine marnagement light will flash wen stops flashing start
